I am amazed that people actually think
Supporting Trump is somehow pro-American. The Republican Party currently supports a fascist regime that has trampled over the Constitution and Bill of Rights. I never thought I’d love to see fascism come to American shores.
These fascists call Democrats socialists and say we are a threat to American freedom. Democrats are capitalists, but in the original sense of the word; not the fallacious definition that for some reason we allow conservatives to get away with. Well I’m calling them out on their BS definition. Let’s take a look at this progressive/socialist quote first:
“…Go as far as may be practical in making the luxury of the rich tributary to the public treasury…Happy it is when the interest which the has in the preservation of its own power, coincides with the proper PROPER DISTRIBUTION OF PUBLIC BURTHENS, and tends to GUARD THE LEAST WEALTHY PART OF THE COMMUNITY FROM OPPRESSION!”
Did Karl Marx write this or some other horrible socialist? Imagine using the term “the distribution of public burthens”? What a socialist? Completely anti-American, right?
The Founding Father and the man most responsible for the creation of American capitalism, Alexander Hamilton, is responsible for writing the above quote.
No, American capitalism was not meant to be an unregulated, casino-like atmosphere for the greedy. It was meant to be well-regulated by the government (our founders did not apply a negative connotation to government: it is the institution that represented and is the voice of the people. Vox populi, vox dei.)
Alexander Hamilton created American capitalism; yet, he used phrases and language that are now taboo due to their so-called socialist leanings. “The distribution of public burthens,” is a phrase that is unacceptable in today’s political discourse. An unchecked, unregulated market economy free of government interference has become synonymous with the word freedom. What Orwellian BS.
Yet, the man who started the market economy in this country, the man who fought to give the federal government the power to tax, did not even contemplate an unregulated American economy. The people, through their elected government, would keep it in check.
My economic beliefs are come straight from Hamilton’s economic beliefs. However, robber barons, Wall Street Banks, and others could not be satisfied with making money ethically. They turned to Hayek and the Chicago School of Economics that advocated for an unregulated economy. It’s apropos to having an unregulated casino. Economic conservatives (not conservative in the sense of America’s original mode of economy—they just had to come up with a different word than unparalleled greed, selfishness, and nonsense of duty towards fellow citizens). The only reason why they wanted the government looking the other way was so they could use illegal means or unethical means in their lifelong pursuit of money.
Our Founding Fathers understood that avarice, greed, and the remnants of a feudalistic society robbed the English of freedom. Only the titled nobility with its massive wealth from land accrued by violence in the feudal times—accrued by marriage in the post-late medieval/Renaissance era—got anywhere close to power. The wealth was highly concentrated at the top. The nobility was the ruling class of England for quite sometime; yet, they made up a very small percentage of the population. The remaining folks were commoners who lived in poverty, and often lived on the massive landholdings of the nobles and paid them rent and during the days of feudalism, they would pledge their fealty and could be called to arms.
When a reality TV star whose message was divisive, disrespectful, and inappropriate won the election, but lost the popular vote by 3 million people. I thought we would storm the White House and dave our country and humanity from a fascist American government. He consistently lies. He has more in common with the world’s dictators and talks to our greatest enemies the way he should be talking to our Western Allies. America and Western Europe kept Russia’s s China in check for 70 years. It kept the world from breaking out into another globalized conflict. He destroyed American soft power and American hegemony instantly. Foreign Policy is a big deal for me.
He immediately gave tax cuts to the wealthy (the opposite of what Alexander Hamilton prescribed) Corporate feudalism is quickly becoming our mode of economy. Jobs at these corporate distribution centers are jobs that the serfs of England would recognize. They’re non-union; don’t pay benefits; they time your work pace; and fire you at will.
It is obvious to a discerning mind that the greed of the wealthy threatens our freedom. Their ability to make Americans believe that their economic enslavement is somehow synonymous with freedom is paradoxical and uncanny.
This parasitic ideology that emanates from
the Uber-wealthy has already infected The Republicans and many Democrats in Congress who take corporate money and are nothing more than a voice for Corporate America.
So much for a government of the people, by the people, and for the people! It’s more like a government by Corporate America, funded by Corporate America, run by Corporate America. The SJC (Supreme Court is now infected after its Citizens United decision); The executive branch is run by one of the Uber wealthy, I’m shocked at the Republican Party for not passing legislation in the Senate that would have us on the path to defending our elections from attacks by Russia, China, Iran.
Trump sews division and hatred to get you to ignore the fact that our government is now funded and controlled by Corporate America and that Our power on the world stage is waning. Will you really fall for the racist BS?
“The latent causes of faction are thus sown in the nature of man…attachment to different leaders, ambitiously contending for pre-eminence and power; or to persons of other descriptions, whose fortunes have been interesting to the human passions, have, in turn, divided mankind into parties, inflamed them with mutual animosity, and rendered them much more disposed to vex and oppress each other than to cooperate for their common good…” – James Madison, The Federalist Papers (Barnes and Nobles: New York, 2006) p 53
So as they scream “socialism” at Democrats, they are attacking our freedom by helping the wealthy concentrate the wealth at the top. Y allowing our elections to be hacked. S Eventually, many of us will be corporate feudal serfs with no freedom. Alexander Hamilton writes about feudalism:
“The power of the head of the nation was commonly too weak, either to preserve the public peace, or to protect the people against the oppression of their immediate lords. This period of European affairs is in emphatically styled by historians, the time of feudal anarchy.” Alexander Hamilton, Ibid.
Screw the dignity of the worker who is just trying to support his family. If someone dies, just step over them and walk around them in your quest to make it through another day without being fired for not meeting their standards when it comes to time. That literally happened: someone died and the serfs were forced to work around a dead body.
Wake up! Something has to click in the average American brain (I know most folks aren’t political science majors/political junkie, who reads the Federalist Papers for pleasure, The Constitution, and the biographies of the Founding Fathers. You probably think I’m sounding a false alarm. I am not an extremist or an ideologue, and I have voted Republican. I went to Central Europe to study the effects of fascism and communism on Central Europe. if you love your country, step back for a brief moment. Take a look at the divide-and-conquer strategy being employed by Trump. He is insulting your intelligence! He tells you that Hispanic people, Muslim people, and black people are responsible for your lack of economic mobility. That these socialist people of color are taking over our government to take away our freedom. Now that you understand that corporations control the branches of government. Do not fall into the trap of division, racial discord, and disunity. You can see through it now.
The government is the collective voice of the people. America is the home of various races and political opinions, and the government is a microcosmic of that diversity. Unfortunately, we swallow this lie that people of color and one Muslim woman is a reason to vote for a man who is supposed to subscribe to basic American rights and beliefs, but scorns them, and behaves like a pretentious spoiled rotten brat who needs a smack to the mouth. Respect him? Does he show anyone respect? His election may doesn’t even seem legit.
What does it tell us about him that he befriends dictators and not Western allies? That is scary! The fact that we have Muslims, blacks, whites, Asians, and Hispanic Congressmen is a testament to American greatness—it is not a weakness Mr. Trump. Our diversity should be celebrated and not disdained. Unite and fight! If you are black, Hispanic, Jewish, Asian, or Muslim, and you believe in the U.S. Constitution and The Bill of Rights, then you are my brother—you are my sister.
“The kindred blood which flows in the veins of American citizens, the mingled blood which they have shed in deference of their sacred rights, consecrate their union, and excite horror at the idea of their becoming aliens, rivals, enemies…
I have endeavored my fellow citizens, to place before you, in a clear and convincing light, the importance of union to your political safety and happiness. I have unfolded to you a complication of dangers to which you would be exposed, should you permit the sacred knot, which binds the people of America together, to be severed or dissolved by ambition or by avarice…”
– Alexander Hamilton, Ibid.
There is only one thing that can save us: you. We need national unity, we need a motivated base/ground game, we need to organize our own neighborhoods for whomever wins the nomination. We need to help with GOTV. And we need to call these people what they really are: fascists.
